Cross-disciplinary Integration

Medical Humanities

As a community partner of the HKU LKS Faculty of Medicine, AFTEC co-orgnises the credit-bearing Medical Humanities Programme, brining the arts into the heart of medical education. Through theatre, movement, and music, this credit-bearing programme invites medical students to move beyond clinical thinking and explore the human side of medicine as part of the formal curriculum.

By engaging with the arts, students reflect on empathy, identity, and connection, fostering a deeper understanding of the body, mind, and patient experience. The creative process acts as a mirror, uncovering the often-unspoken dimensions of care, healing, and what it means to be human.
