Land.Tao is a pioneering school-based initiative funded by the Lantau Conservation Fund. Launched in 2024, the programme reimagines education through the lens of creativity, ecology, and cross-curricular inquiry. By integrating the arts into academic subjects, Land.Tao fosters critical thinking, environmental awareness, and sustainable learning mindsets among students and teachers alike.
Rooted in the unique biodiversity of Lantau Island, Land.Tao has created a living ecological garden inspired by Fung Shui Woods on the campus of Buddhist Fat Ho Memorial College with teachers, scientists and creative pracitioners. This space has become a learning laboratory—where exploration, engagement, and experience converage through a creative learning system. We continue to develop this immersive, holistic model, with the hope of replicating it in other schools in Lantau—and across Hong Kong.
Land.Tao is part of AFTEC’s Sea, Land, Sky trilogy, which also includes FLOW with AFTEC @ Shalowan (2019) and Flight – Sights, Sounds & Shows @ Shalowan (2018). The land segment was curtained due to COVID.
